Guan Kiat has been training in Aikido since 1996, when he joined Aikido Shinjukai at Cheng San Community Centre dojo in Singapore under the tutelage of Philip Lee Shihan, whom Guan Kiat has been training and receiving guidance from for the past 19 years. He is a veteran Aikido instructor with 4th Dan Aikikai accreditation, having attended countless seminars, including those organized by the International Aikido Federation, and has trained and practiced with many Shihans and Senseis from all over the world.

Having been training under Philip Lee Shihan since 2005, Chee Meng is now a holder of a 2nd Dan in Aikikai Aikido. He has also trained under Chief Instructor Tey on countless occasions, and has been to numerous local and international Aikido seminars. He is one of the pioneers of Aikido in Johor Bahru being one of the founding members of Ju Ai Aikido, when the art was relatively unknown in Johor. He is passionate about the art and enjoys sharing his knowledge and experiences with his students. Jovial both on and off the mats, students find it hard not to be charmed by his witty banter.
